As the eighth National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims -- December 13th, 2021 is coming, the Youth League Committee of JSMC launched the patriotic education under the name of “Forget not the nation’s humiliation and invigorate China” to alert and inspire the teachers and students to not forget the humiliation in the history, and to cherish the memory of the victims of the Nanjing Massacre and all the compatriots who were killed by the Japanese invaders during the Japanese imperialist war of aggression against China.
In order to honor the martyrs, at 10 o’clock in the morning on December 13th, student representatives came to the square in front of the library to participate in the commemorative activity, which began with the national anthem. The students paid a minute of silence for the compatriots who died in the massacre and the martyrs who died in the Anti-Japanese War.
At noon on December 13th, the students’ union held the “Sign for praying” activity at the entrance of the canteen of the East Campus. The students solemnly signed their names on the banners to express their condolences to the compatriots who died and their cherishment for today’s peaceful life.
“History will not be changed with the course of time, and facts will never fade away due to repudiation from the artful tongue.” General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the first National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims brought the students a deeper understanding of the significance of the National Memorial Day, and strengthened their clear stand against war of aggression, safeguarding dignity, and maintaining peace.
